Can you trust that desk review?
Paste a YouTube channel or a video URL. If we have graded that reviewer, you get the score and the reasoning behind it.
What the grade actually measures
Six signals, weighted. Whether a channel discloses paid placements, whether it takes money from the brands it covers, whether it measures anything or just describes what it unboxed, whether it revisits a product after launch, how consistent its verdicts are across similar gear, and how long it has been doing this.
None of that measures whether someone is likeable or whether their videos are good. It measures whether a recommendation from them tells you something about the product rather than about their sponsor.
Why most channels score badly
Because the format rewards volume. A channel that posts three reviews a week cannot test any of them for a month, and a channel that depends on review units cannot afford to be harsh. Neither is dishonest, but both produce reviews that predict less than you would hope.
Where the data comes from
Public YouTube metadata and the video descriptions themselves — disclosure text, affiliate link density, upload cadence, engagement relative to subscriber count. Every reviewer in the index has a page showing the same workings. Browse the whole index.
